European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers
The European Charter for Researchers together with the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers are the European Union documents that set the guidelines for European Universities and Research Institutions to improve the working and employment conditions for researchers, making research careers in Europe more attractive.
The Charter contains 40 principles that define the responsibilities and rights of researchers and of the entities that employ and/or fund researchers. They are grouped into 4 main areas:

The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers consists of a set of principles to be followed by public and private sector employers and/or funding entities when recruiting researchers. The implementation of the Charter&Code principles contributes to making the European Research Area more attractive.
